The inception of Infinicept.
Helping companies get payments going their way since 2011.
Before embedded payments was an industry, it was a problem two people were solving.
In 2011, Visa and Mastercard changed their rules to endorse the Payment Facilitator model. Deana Rich and Todd Ablowitz, two payments veterans running separate advisory practices, saw what it meant before most of the industry did: software companies could own their payment experience. Not hand it off. Not refer it out. Own it. That conviction is why Infinicept exists, and it has not moved since.
By 2014, the advisory work had become a company. The first product, Payops, turned hard-won compliance and operational expertise into software: underwriting, boarding, risk monitoring, fee calculation, funding. It came out of real work helping tech companies become fintechs, banks become sponsors, and regulators understand a model none of them had seen before.
Then the market moved. PayFac-as-a-Service offered the benefits of the model without the burden of registering, and the category filled fast with options that were harder and harder to tell apart. More providers, more terms, more fine print. In 2023, Launchpay met that moment with the same commitments written into the contract instead of the pitch.
Those commitments are what we hold constant:
- Full visibility into your economics
- Transparent pricing
- Open technology, not a closed stack
- A designed path forward if you ever choose to become a registered PayFac
Today three products carry that work forward. Launchpay for software companies going live with embedded payments. Payops for registered PayFacs, marketplaces, and acquiring banks running programs at scale. Paysolve for the strategic and regulatory decisions that shape every payments company. More than 300 companies in 50 countries, 47,000+ merchants, and $24.5 billion in annualized processing volume run on that work.
The industry keeps changing. Our answer to it has not. That is not a backstory. It is why every product works the way it does.
